Swine flu is an interesting event. Word is just out of a case in Shelby County and possibly near Nashville. This goes to show that students are incubators of disease and we all need to be more careful about hand washing and so forth. Hopefully, it will be no worse than any other flu strain. I had a teacher at my school who said he thought it was the government implementing some kind of population control. "You see how fucked up I is? This is how I think" he told me in the cafeteria. Be that as it may I do not think that we are being wiped out in some calculated fashion or that this will take us out like the dinosaurs....knock on wood, but I do believe anytime something is spreading like wildfire in the local community that we should cancel school and stay home. Win-win. I hear the school in Collierville has closed for seven days and it will be interesting to see if others follow. We shall see.
:-)
Didn't know that TN schools had started closing. 3 more districts in TX closed today. All state athletic and academic contests are on hold (including regional track meets, one-act play, and solo/ensemble contests).
